Expansion of photovoltaic glass construction in Barcelona ​​Spain

Vidrala, the leading glass container manufacturer, has started the commissioning of its Castellar Vidrio photovoltaic plant with the energization of the new installations at the factory located in Castellar del Vallés, Barcelona. MES Barcelona also installs photovoltaic panels for residents' associations. The funders of the photovoltaic installation sell the energy to the building's owners, and at the end of the energy sale contract, ownership of the panels is transferred to the building owners at zero cost.

The new photovoltaic plant at Castellar Vidrio has the capacity to produce approximately 8,000 MWh of energy per year. This will mean the reduction of more than 2,000 tons of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere per year. The new plant has more than 1,900 photovoltaic modules with a power of up to 6 MWp.

The aim of the initiative is to promote green energy generation in the Catalan capital, with 8 projects currently in progress to install photovoltaic panels on large buildings.
