The study develops four scenarios: the Reference scenario (REF), the Moderate Renewable Energy scenario (Moderate RE), the High Renewable Energy scenario (High RE) and the Green scenario. Cameroon, aiming to become an emerging country by 2035, is heavily investing in hydroelectricity and developing other alternative electricity production sources to address the energy deficit.
Cameroon's energy demand is driven by demographics (urbanization, population growth, etc.), macro and socioeconomic indicators (income per capita, employment rate, etc.), government policy targets, and technological advances.
